From Ashes to Beauty
He will give beauty for ashes, joy instead of mourning, praise instead of despair. For the Lord has planted them like strong and graceful oaks for his own glory. ~ Isaiah 61:3 NLT
Apex Bulk Handlers, the business that operates below The Upper Rooms Ministries, experienced a fire at their old location in August 2007. This event became a blessing instead of devastation, as God would have it. The wind blew on the day of the fire in a direction that kept the fire contained in a paint booth instead of burning down the whole building which allowed Apex to continue operating. Meanwhile, a company that had been buying up property in the area gave the owners of Apex an offer for the building and land. The sale of that property gave them the opportunity to look for a new building. They found a facility that was within their budget and much larger than their old place. In fact, the office space alone was 5 times larger … a little more than they needed! They purchased the property and decided to rent out the facility upstairs. However, God had different plans. He laid it on the heart of the owners of Apex to renovate the upstairs and donate the space for ministry. Hence, “The Upper Rooms Ministries” was born. God literally took ashes and turned it into beauty for His work!
